Director of the Piano School Cambridge

Biography

 ISM Registered Private Teacher Status

Stefano Manca has been the Director of the Piano School Cambridge since September 2016 and is a member of the Incorporated Society of Musicians.

He offers one-to-one private piano tuition and music theory lessons to both children and adults, including preparation for concerts, ABRSM and TRINITY exams, and musical competitions.

Specialised in Teaching Children

In 2010, Stefano earned his "Orff-Schulwerk" qualification at Tor Vergata University in Rome. This method, which has become increasingly popular, integrates music, drama, and speech into lessons that resonate with a child’s world of play. Thanks to this qualification, Stefano excels at engaging children both emotionally and musically, making him an ideal music teacher who inspires passion and involvement in music.

Artistic Career

Born in Bari, Italy, in 1986, Stefano obtained his Bachelor of Music cum Laude in 2010 and his Master of Music in Piano Solo cum Laude with Honourable Mention in 2013 from the Conservatory of Bari. He has attended numerous specialisation courses and masterclasses in Italy, Austria, and England, studying with esteemed teachers such as M. Somma, G. Sannicandro, E. Sarno, F. Altamura, D. Fung, E. Schumann, J. L. Wood, and A. Delle Vigne. Stefano was consistently selected to perform in final concerts and has also studied harpsichord under M° M. Bisceglie.

During his conservatory years, Stefano developed a vast and technically complex musical repertoire, ranging from Bach's "The Well-Tempered Clavier" to Gershwin's jazz, with a particular focus on the works of Beethoven and Liszt. His repertoire requires significant technical skill and extraordinary passion for music.

Stefano has been invited to perform in piano and chamber music concerts, music lectures, masterclasses, and workshops across Italy, the UK, and Austria, earning great public acclaim. He regularly performs recitals around Cambridge, including at colleges such as Homerton, Trinity, Robinson, Clare, Girton, and Newnham. Stefano also frequently performs solo and chamber music concerts at the Church of Our Lady and the English Martyrs.
